Meeting per l'Amicizia fra i Popoli
The Summer festival of meetings, exhibitions, music, shows, sports and children's village activities, is now in its 46th edition, which focuses on friendship between peoples. An international event that addresses crucial topics, in free and open dialogue with the most interesting personalities of culture, politics and faith.
The 47th edition of the Meeting is entitled “The Love that moves the sun and the other stars”, a phrase taken from the final verse of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, which seeks to explore the depth and meaning of love as the central theme of this year’s edition. A love that becomes a key to interpreting a present marked by fragmentation and conflict, and to rediscovering “the origin and destiny of the world entrusted to us”. Meetings, exhibitions and debates will seek to examine whether this original love can generate reconciliation and new forms of community life, turning Rimini into a workshop for cultural and civic dialogue.
This year’s event will be marked by the historic visit of Pope Leo XIV on the afternoon of Saturday, 22 August, followed by a Holy Mass for the city and the entire Diocese of Rimini.
The programme includes more than 130 conferences with 500 speakers, 16 exhibitions and 18 performances, some of which will be hosted in the setting of the Teatro Galli.
The beating heart of the event is represented by the 3,000 volunteers from all over the world, who manage a complex structure that includes the Children’s Village, with dedicated workshops and exhibitions, and a 12,000-square-metre Sport Village with playing fields.
True to its technological and global vocation, the Meeting broadcasts its main events live in Italian, English and Spanish, making its content accessible to an international audience even after the event has come to an end.
