Christmas and New Year in Cervia and Milano Marittima
The Christmas atmosphere pervades Cervia with an air of festivity, while Milano Marittima, the garden city, lights up with sparkling lights.
In anticipation of the surprises in store for the coming festivities, I describe what the atmosphere was like at Christmas 2025 and New Year's Eve 2026 on my Riviera.
Cervia comes to life with special events, Christmas markets, artisan workshops and street food stalls that fill the air with the enticing aromas of Christmas. Climb aboard the "Christmas Express", the special Christmas ‘train’ which connects Cervia and Milano Marittima, to savour the festive atmosphere. It is like entering a fairytale world of twinkling Christmas lights, ice rinks, and mythical creatures.
Adults can look for some gift ideas in Piazza Garibaldi, whilst in the ‘Christmas Garden’ children can meet elves, reindeer, ice queens and maybe even the Grinch. Or the whole family can go ice skating together on a rink overlooked by the twinkling Christmas tree.
With Mare d'Arte and Tacabanda, Milano Marittima shows off its most dazzling and glamorous side. In addition to the beautiful, exclusive boutiques in the town centre, you can enjoy exciting shows and marvel at high-quality art installations.
