Saltiness: the arcane of my salt marshes

In Cervia at the Magazzini del Sale exhibition Salsedine: l'arcano delle mie Saline, with paintings by painter Werther Morigi (1915-1990).

The theme of the exhibition is the Salina, which he painted in every facet, sunrises and sunsets, summers and winters, he even slept there, so as not to miss transient moments, fleeting colours, to save what remains after the resurrection of the sea and the deposition of salt. As the master himself declared, "We save the salt marsh and she will save us, I paint her eternally for others."

His paintings are characterised by a dense and decisive brushstroke, with intense colours such as red, yellow, brown and green then faded.

In addition to paintings from all over the world, the writings and testimonies of people who followed him in the experience, including Umberto Eco, Giuseppe Ungaretti, Franz Madesani Deledda and Mario Luzi, are also on display.
