Il Volto dell'Artista - Arts Festival
The Festival delle Arti opens on 9 January at 6.30 pm, with an exhibition open until 1 February in the spaces of the Torre salt warehouse in Cervia. The theme of this 24th edition is Il volto dell'artista (The Face of the Artist).
The exhibition, curated by Silvana Costa with the support of the Municipality of Cervia, brings together the works of 50 artists who have participated in the Festival delle Arti. The central theme is the portrait, interpreted through painting, sculpture, installations, mosaics, ceramics and jewellery.
According to the curator, portraiture is a tool for reading the history and evolution of human beings: the face becomes a book that reveals emotions and thoughts. The artists translate what they perceive into works that invite the viewer to recognise not only the subject, but also the author himself. Some represent themselves as comic book characters or through installations that recount different moments in their lives.
The exhibition thus becomes a collection of personal narratives, a collective “book” in which each work opens up a different world. Visitors are invited to observe with curiosity and intuition, trying to grasp what each artist reveals about themselves.
