Thursday 9 July, appointment in Milano Marittima with the final performance of the 2026 edition of “Il Trebbo in Musica” of the Ravenna Festival: Fabio Canino brings to the stage the fairy tale “The Ugly Duckling” by Hans Christian Andersen.
In an era marked by the pursuit of aesthetic perfection and the widely discussed issue of body-shaming, this performance—featuring original music by Dino Scuderi and the irony of a protagonist such as Fabio Canino—reminds us how extremely relevant this story still is today.
After the happy ending, in fact, what remains is the awareness that life is still difficult for those who do not feel up to dominant standards, for those who feel “different”, for those who will never turn into a swan… and it is precisely to them that this performance is dedicated. In other words, ultimately, to all of us.
