The Living Nativity Scene in Montefiore Conca

The historic centre of Montefiore Conca is transformed into a small Bethlehem, enveloped in an evocative atmosphere of religious significance.

In the heart of one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, numerous participants take part in an initiative that, for three decades, has involved and united the inhabitants of the municipality with those of neighbouring villages.

The intention to evoke the memory of the night of Bethlehem and the journey of the Magi brings animals, shepherds and cultural representations round the fortress.  

The reproduction of ancient crafts, pipers and open-air theatre are all opportunities to fill the eyes, and the heart, with the lights and happiness of Christmas.
