Festival of Forgotten Fruits of Casola Valsenio
The Festival of Forgotten Fruits of Casola Valsenio is the traditional event dedicated to the rediscovery of those fruits whose use has been lost.
In the second and third weekend of October, the Casola farmers display and sell the autumn fruits harvested from old plants that have survived the cultural changes or from new plants grown after the revival of interest in the peasant diet of the past.
This special farm-to-table market is an immersion into rural life, where authentic vintage flavors and aromas blend with the vivid colors of autumn. Here, the traditional heritage of Romagna comes alive through food, cosmetics, and hands-on experiences: jujubes, volpine pears, cornelian cherries, strawberry tree berries, wild greens, and the essential sweet chestnut, available in a variety of dishes.
The festival features tastings of native wines, forgotten fruits, and wild herbs, alongside talks, a themed food hall, cooking workshops, product displays, folk performances, and live music.
