The King of Waltz The King of Waltz

The ‘Airone Città di Cervia’ Opera Choir invites the public to ‘Il Re del Valzer’ (The King of the Waltz), a fascinating journey through late 19th-century Habsburg Vienna, featuring melodies, singing and dancing, in homage to the great Johann Strauss on the bicentenary of his birth.

The event will take place at the Walter Chiari Municipal Theatre in Cervia on Saturday 29th November 2025 at 9 pm.

More than just a concert, ‘Il Re del Valzer’ is a total immersion in the opulent and joyful atmosphere of the Habsburg capital. As Raffaella Benini, director of the Airone Città di Cervia Opera Choir, points out:

‘We wanted to create an event that would be a real gift to the public. Celebrating Strauss means celebrating the joy, elegance and beauty of music that unites. It will be an evening where music is not only heard, but seen, experienced and danced to.’
