Cervia
La figura femminile nell'arte
In Cervia, the Sala Malva Nord is hosting La Figura Femminile nell'Arte (The Female Figure in Art), a series of free evening lectures on the female figure in art led by art philosopher Renzo Golinucci. The initiative is promoted in collaboration with the SeiDonna Service and the Department for Equal Opportunities of the Municipality of Cervia, as part of cultural activities and awareness-raising on gender equality issues.
The project aims to rediscover the central role of women in artistic imagery through an analysis of the works of four great masters of Italian painting: Botticelli, Michelangelo, Raphael and Caravaggio. Each meeting will be dedicated to one of these artists and will offer the public a critical and in-depth look at the representation of women in their work, between idealisation, spirituality, beauty and realism.
