Gianfranco Meggiato: "Trame di Luce"
From April 2nd to November 5th, 2026, the MarePineta Resort will host the exhibition "Trame di Luce" (Weaves of Light).
This initiative holds a particularly significant meaning: it marks the first direct collaboration between MarePineta Milano Marittima and the artist, fitting into the Centennial celebrations program and its path toward embracing international cultural projects.
Meggiato's works, distributed throughout the spaces of the Resort, the Club House, the Sporting Club, and the Beach Club, stand out for an artistic research based on the tension between matter, light, and energy.
The sculptures present themselves as open weaves and reticular structures, where the matter organizes itself into dynamic intertwining paths crossed by light.
Gianfranco Meggiato: Born in Venice in 1963, Gianfranco Meggiato is among the most internationally active contemporary Italian sculptors. He participated in the 54th and 55th Venice Biennale and received the ICOMOS-UNESCO Award in 2017. His monumental installations have been showcased in contexts of great historical and landscape relevance, including the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, and Matera. In 2024, he created the urban installation "The Dioscuri Return to Rome" in Rome and presented the solo exhibition "Lines of the Invisible" at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku (2024–2025). In 2026, he presents the widespread exhibition "The Kiss of Judas" (Il Bacio di Giuda) in Padua. A public art project involving the city's historic center and outskirts with a series of monumental sculptures, interacting with Giotto's artistic heritage and the contemporary urban context.
