Cervia
Guided Tours of the Camillone Saltworks
The Antica Salina Camillone is the open-air section of the MUSA – Salt Museum.
Recognized as a Slow Food Presidio since 2004 for the production of the traditional “sweet” Cervia salt, it is the last remaining artisanal saltworks after the transformation that replaced the approximately 150 salt pans that existed before the major changes of the 1950s.
During the visit, the salinari (salt workers) explain the different stages of the harvesting and production process.
Every Thursday and Sunday, meeting at 5:00 PM in the parking area at the Salina Visitor Center, Via Bova 61.
A salt worker will accompany participants to Salina Camillone.
