Discovering the Duca d'Altemps Woods
Once again this year, Castiglione di Cervia will host the beautiful ecological walks "Discovering the Duca d'Altemps Woods".
The free guided tours, open to all, will be organised and led by Alteo Missiroli, painter, ecologist and Voluntary Ecological Guard, and will be aimed at discovering the fascinating natural landscape of the forest and its history. During the visits, the evocative naturalistic treasure of the area, its history will be told, as well as that of Dr. Alberto Missiroli, born in Castiglione, a great scientist and world-famous researcher who fought 'malaria', and his father Paolo, also a great doctor, friend and councillor of the town for more than forty years. Birds of prey, previously rescued and cared for by the "Associazione Zoofila Amici degli Animali" wildlife recovery centre in Ravenna, will later be released.
The walks are part of the programme of Cervia Città Giardino, Europe's largest open-air floral art exhibition.
