Cervia
Let's play at the museum!
The activities of the “Let’s Play at the Museum” project continue at MUSA – Museo del Sale di Cervia, a programme of initiatives designed for children as well as adults.
Through these workshops, MUSA – the Salt Museum of Cervia highlights the city’s deep connection with the sea, which not only provides the raw material for salt production but was also the main trade route for the precious “white gold.”
All workshops are free of charge and included in the museum admission ticket.
Programme
Sunday 15 February
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Workshop: A Sail for Everyone
Curated by the cultural association La Pantofla
A creative workshop for children exploring painting and the symbolism of ancient sails from maritime tradition. An experience combining art and history to discover the “heraldry of the sea” through colours, symbols and stories from local seafaring culture.
Sunday 22 February
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Workshop: Salty Frontier
Curated by Cooperativa Atlantide
An engaging workshop combining science and nature to discover the salt pan as an extreme and surprising environment. Through close observation, including microscope work, participants explore halophilic plants and the ingenious strategies they use to survive in seemingly impossible conditions.

Workshop: My Very Own Mascot
Curated by Cooperativa Atlantide
Creation of soft toys using recycled materials to represent the animals that inhabit the salt pan: a “sound-making” little bird built with colours, scissors, glue and reused materials. The aim is both to learn about salt pan wildlife and to give new life to discarded materials.
