FAMU - Famiglie al MUSEO!
On the occasion of National Family Day at the Museum (FAMU) at the Salt Museum, there will be a special event featuring a salt painting workshop organised by the Atlantide Cooperative.
Are you ready to get your hands dirty, have fun and discover the secrets of the magical world of salt crystals? Painting with coloured salt is great fun for all children, stimulates creativity and helps them learn about our identity and history.
In cooking, salt should be used sparingly, but in art, the amounts vary greatly, although salt has often stimulated artistic creativity. Salt pans, sometimes 'lunar' and naturalistic landscapes of great charm, are depicted in various paintings. Salt crystals can be used to create works of art, as can be seen in the works on display in the museum. Blocks of salt can be sculpted like blocks of stone. Salt is also present in popular sayings and superstitions and is considered a remedy against the evil eye and spells.
For children, the workshop and admission to the museum are free of charge.
