There is no Christmas without a nativity scene.
On 10 December, at the Teatro Comunale in Cervia, the Teatro dal Basso theatre company will stage “Non c'è Natale senza presepe” (There is no Christmas without a nativity scene), written and directed by Michele Zizzari.
At the heart of the performance is the story of a family marked by poverty and immaturity, emblematic of a tradition that has become fragile and inadequate. A household riven by conflict which, amid misunderstandings and tensions, heads towards a tragic conclusion on Christmas Day.
This comedy intertwines humour and ridicule with irresistible gags and the use of masks, without sacrificing a dramatic subtext: the portrait of a worn-out coexistence, where laughter is mixed with the depth of human emotions.
