Endless Summer
At the Salt Warehouse (Magazzino del Sale) in Cervia, Endless Summer returns – a contemporary art exhibition conceived by MAGMA and part of a three-year cycle (2025–2027).
The exhibition is inspired by the idea of an endless summer: a suspended season where light stretches time, rhythms slow down and new perceptions emerge with greater intensity. Endless Summer explores summer as a state of mind, where the intensity of the present coexists with the awareness of its inevitable end.
The title references The Endless Summer (1966) by Bruce Brown, a documentary following surfers across hemispheres in search of perpetual summer. Similarly, the exhibition reflects on the paradox of a season that must end yet continues to be imagined as an ideal.
For the 2026 edition, artistic direction is entrusted to Gioele Melandri and Alex Montanaro, who collaborate with curators from both institutional and independent backgrounds to shape a shared project. The works – ranging from painting to video, sculpture, photography and performance – interact freely, creating an open and dynamic exhibition space.
The exhibition invites visitors to experience art as one experiences summer: with intensity, presence and awareness.
