Milano Marittima
Mostra Werther Morigi
From September 10, Milano Marittima celebrates Werther Morigi (1915–1990) through a distributed exhibition itinerary that unfolds across some of the town centre’s historic locations, bringing to the public the visionary power of one of the most original artists of the 20th century.
On the occasion of the 75th Exhibition in Milano Marittima, the energy of Werther Morigi’s signs, colours and materials once again permeates the town, emanating from the works on display and from the sensitivity of Bottega d’Arte, custodian of an artistic and human story that continues to engage with the present.
For this anniversary, a selection of important works from major collections, generously made available on loan, has been installed in significant locations throughout Milano Marittima, creating an itinerary that intertwines art, memory and place.
A journey through seventy years of the Painter’s career, moving between the historic locations of Milano Marittima and works that differ in period, material, technique and language, yet are united by the same tension towards the infinite and each capable of conveying the complexity of his creative experience.
And it is precisely this infinite that the exhibition invites us to seek today: in front of the works, in their signs, their materials and the emotions they continue to evoke, keeping Werther Morigi’s legacy alive in the present.
