Cervia
Night of fortresses
For the first time in Italy, Cervia hosts the Night of fortresses - Night of Fortresses, the result of the European project FORTITUDE, focused on the development of sustainable cultural tourism and linking more than 50 sites in 8 countries and 40 cities, including coastal and inland fortresses, castles, museums, galleries and fortified towns. The aim is to make visitors aware of sustainable tourism and practices and to encourage active participation in the protection of the environment and cultural heritage.
An opportunity, through special free guided tours, to recount Cervia in a new way, through the historical meanings that the town's symbolic places have taken on over time, such as the quadrilateral of the founding town, as a fortification itself created to protect the salt, the San Michele Tower, the bunkers or the fortress found in the salt works.
