At the MUSA - Museo del Sale di Cervia photo exhibition The Milano Marittima canal 100 years after its construction, organised by the Gruppo Culturale Civiltà Salinara.
Through period pictures and explanatory panels, the exhibition tells the story of the construction of the Pine Tree Canal in Milano Marittima, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
This is the Cervia salt-pans canal, an important hydraulic work completed in 1925 after a long period of reform concerning production, salt-pan management, and relations with salt workers. A change that started as early as the Unification of Italy with the establishment of the State Monopoly and the acquisition of the ownership of the salt pans by the State.
