4-12 July events / 4 July-30 September exhibition Human Race
Milano Marittima
Sea of Art Festival
Milano Marittima becomes an open-air cultural stage with the Mare d'Arte Festival, dedicated to the theme 'Shared Dreams'.
Nature, art and innovation come together in a profound dialogue that extends to the sea, a symbol of openness, exchange and connection. In this unique setting, the city is transformed into a diffuse museum where creativity takes shape through architecture, design, photography, painting and sculpture.
The programme includes events with talks, shows, lectures and concerts in the picturesque Rotonda Primo Maggio and on the beach. On the seafront, the Oliviero Toscani Studio's "Razza Umana" (Human Race) photo-totems, created by Toscani and his students and collaborators, will be on display for about two months, and there will be a set where visitors can photograph themselves to become part of this project. The central work of the exhibition is Valerio Berruti's 'Non basta il canto delle Sirene' (Not Enough Siren Song), which will be on permanent display.
Milano Mariima turns into a unique cultural landing place, a living open-air museum, a place that welcomes and evolves, combining its being a garden between art and integrated cultural languages.
The Festival is realised in collaboration with Sky Arte and for some operational activities the Pro Loco of Milano Marittima.

4 July - 30 September
Seafront Milano Marittima (seaside villas)
Razza Umana (Human Race) is a socio-political, cultural and anthropological study that portrays the morphology of people in order to observe their peculiarities and characteristics, and to draw dierences and similarities. Oliviero Toscani has travelled the world together with his students and collaborators and has portrayed human beings in the squares and streets, setting up a travelling photographic studio each time, to compose an archive of around 100,000 images.
The siren song is not enough- Valerio Berruti
Permanent work
Molo
Inauguration on Friday 8 August at Bagno Mosquito
A sculpture that stands out against the water, whose bronze profile draws a silent dialogue with the sea, the sky and its changing colours. By day and by night the work transforms: as darkness falls
lights up, as if emerging from the depths of the sea, suspended between dream and reality.
This work fits naturally into the creative journey of the artist, who has always explored through art the themes of childhood, memory, family ties and emotional intimacy.
