The Art of Foundations
At the Magazzino del Sale in Cervia The Art of the Foundations, an art exhibition curated by Claudio Spadoni that brings together the art collections of the entities in the area, from the second half of the 19th century to the contemporary age in all its forms.
Following the exhibitions Four Galleries for a Century of Art in 2021 and The Passions of Collectors: from Bertelli to Cattelan in 2023, this exhibition project aims to document different types of Foundations, which also promote exhibition activities and cultural initiatives.
This exhibition, in particular, sees the participation of the Tito Balestra Onlus Foundation of Longiano, Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna, the Golinelli Foundation of Bologna, Cardinale Giacomo Lercaro of Bologna and Dino Zoli of Forlì, five very different foundations that bring a very heterogeneous selection that allows us to cross more than a century of art. With the Golinelli Foundation, works of contemporary art have been selected, singular works relating to contemporary African artists, made with recycled and unconventional materials in which one can also read historical, political and social significance. The Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna displays works from the Archangel bequest, with artists such as Bertelli, Morlotti and De Pisis and the Last Naturalists. The Cardinal Giacomo Lercaro Foundation brings a selection of very diverse artists such as Giacomo Balla, Aldo Borgonzoni and Giacomo Manzù. The Tito Balestra Foundation brings works that correspond to the tastes of the poet and epigrammist after whom the Foundation is named. Prominent among the artists in this section are Renato Guttuso and Mino Maccari. Lastly, the Dino Zoli Foundation's selection includes not only paintings, but also installations, photographs and sculptures, with particularly interesting names such as Achille Perilli, Enrico Baj and Giosetta Fioroni".
